=Still With You= is a photographic series made during and after my husbands prostate cancer treatment in 2023.
For twenty years I have made portraits of my husband across different mediums, including egg tempera painting and photography. This series focuses on the quiet healing process at home, rather than the trauma of hospitalization and treatment. It documents the intimacy that unfolds, evolves and readjusts quietly in our relationship.
A cancer diagnosis will change your life. These photographs hold space for the ordinary, unspoken and poignant moments along the way. The work reflects endurance, vulnerability, and the steadiness of remaining — with one’s body, with another person, with uncertainty.
There remains a deep silence surrounding prostate cancer. This work is offered in the hope that those navigating its long aftermath — alone or with a partner — may find recognition here.
